Blogging with Blogger

The most easy to use and free blog out in the world wide web that I found is Blogger hosted by Google.

To start the step by step instruction please select the image below.


After visiting Blogger.com, simply log in with your Google account information. If you do not have a Google user account, please visit the following link to create one. If you have require visual assistance to create a Google account, please use the posted video below.

Once log in to Blogger, you can just select new blog.
A new window will pop up to allow you to create your new blog.

Type in your blog title, blog web address, and select the blog template.
(Notes you can change your blog template any time)
Select the Create Blog button.

Your blog has been now created !!

Time for your first post.
Select the pencil button in the image bellow to see your post screen.



You you have compete your post by filling in the title and the post body you can select publish to release the blog to the public domain.

The Training Plan

Prerequisite:

This training is intended for audience with general knowledge and uses with common knowledge base computer skills, online web tool usage experienced, and online web navigation.

Overview:

The purpose of this training is to familiarize a learner with the uses of the blog tool and how might it be use to promote learning. The training materials will compose of instruction on how to set up a blogger account to uses as blog and multiple online videos to promote using blogs in education. The goal of this training is to encourage better understanding of blog and its application through example.

Training Methods:

The training method will be a proceed in a linear blog fashion starting with the first post to the last post. Each Post will listed out a specific step of the instruction. The first step is video introduction of what a blog is. The second step will be instruction to set up a blog. Once a understanding of what a blog is and how to use it is achieves, additional video example will provide additional content materials to demonstrate the intended use of Blogs in education. Since this is a public training session, there will be no assessment to measure intended audience understanding of the subject. Topics:

The first step is video introduction, which was link to a youtube video to provide simple understanding of what a basic blog is.

The second step will be step by step instruction to set up a blog.

The third step will be additional example materials for uses of Blogs in classroom.

This is a free online training session, hardware requirement for this training is a computer, and less than hour of your time.

Personal Overview:

The area of expertise that I am experienced in is instructional technology support. This include provide instructors with educational technology support for software such as, Blackboard Learn 9.1, Blackboard collaborate, Blogs, Wikis, Podcast, and many other web 2.0 type tools. Aside from educational software, I am also well verse in media production software, such as Photoshop, Captivate, Flash, and etc.... In relation instruction, I have minimal experience aiding in the development training materials for faculty professional development training. In regard to learning theories, I am limited to general knowledge that was pass on to me by professors, instructor, and first hand experiences during training sessions. I tremendously lack formal training and education for learning theories, which I intend to improve.
